Finnish Independence - a reason to celebrate Finnish Design

I couldn't resist and were watching yesterday the first time in my life the president's reception. But you need to know that there is quite a hype about who is designing whose dress for this very special occasion.
I was especially interested in Teemu Muurimäki's design for the sailor Mikaela Wulff as the first pictures and sketches were quite promising. And indeed it turned out to be my evening's favorite.

Another dream, this time in red was worn by the actress Mari Ylipää. The dress is designed by Hanna Sarén. The complete look is very stylish, with the hair laid in vintage waves and the simple red satin with stunning details.
