“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
Coco Chanel
For Chanel's Haute Couture collection, Karl Lagerfeld shows us his own interpretation of the Shakespeare classic "A Midsummer Night's Dream". The setting is a a wild growing forest and the fairytale like atmosphere is created by the innocent white and cream shades of the dresses and flower patterns.
But Karl Lagerfeld is a master of contrasts and like magic, he puts a mystic, gothic atmosphere over the forest emphasized by the strong black make-up and the hats and fascinators which give the looks a twisted, gloomy touch.
