sicilian folk by Dolce & Gabbana - part II

Also the men's collection of Dolce & Gabbana had Sicily as a topic, but while the women's collection is rather based on an image, for the men's collection Dolce & Gabbana imported a village with all its lock, stock and old stone walls.

The "protagonists" of this show: nearly all of them non-models who were actually drawn from a number of Sicilian towns and villages gave the impression of watching generations of one tight community marching with pride down the catwalk to a tune of a traditional village band.

The authenticity of the setting was also present in the creation of clothes. Where there was gold and glam in the past collection, there was a down to earth charm instead: kids wearing their tightly belted trousers with insouciance and pride and adults in three-piece suits that had the well-worn look of Sunday best.

Just the material reminded that those pieces belong actually to a fashion collection. To complete the Sicilian illusions everything here spoke of summer, paired once again with the feeling of sun, sea and love.
