fashion week special - autumn winter 2013/14

I love to watch fashion shows and the last couple of weeks where filled with new trends and inspirations for the coming fall and winter. I know the snow hasn't even melted yet up here, but therefore it is even more exciting to enjoy a good show wrapped up with a hot cup of tea in your hands.

Though the shows in Paris are not yet over, my favorite shows so far came from Milan this time. For the Dsquared² show, the Caten brothers rebuilt the jazz club which was already the setting for the men's show to celebrate a glorious show inspired by the 1940s. Under the title "les dames masculines" they showed an amazing contrast of how to emphasize femininity with glamorous evening gowns and suits in dandy style with bow ties.

Traveling back in time seems always to be a great source of inspiration in design. And while talking of femininity, the other show I loved for its glamour was the Dolce & Gabbana show "tailored mosaic".

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have a great skill to tell stories and this time they took us to the Cathedral of Monreale close to Palermo with its amazing byzantine mosaics. The colors and details were just amazing and all those great red dresses in the end made me nearly speechless.

But as every city has its own style, let's have a look at the others too!
