Dolce & Gabbana - for men

The theme for the autumn collection was "Devotion" and for sure the collections of Dolce & Gabbana show love and devotion for their roots, culture and tradition, so it was not surprising that they showed us once again "real" men, instead of models, to present the collection.
The word devotion was also taken one step further and became a religious motif in the wide-sleeved poplin tops trimmed with priestly lace, religious icons printed on tees and sweats and in the respectful black Sunday-best suits that might be familiar to Domenico Dolce as a nice childhood memory. Also the silhouette of trousers, coats and the cropped jackets and vests had a vintage touch.

Dolce & Gabbana collections have always some kitch elements, for some people a no-go and for others just charming, because they are part of the big story the designer duo is telling with every collection. So also in this collection we had a good portion of it in the Madonna prints and in the needlepoint flowers on velvet jackets and shoes. I can nearly imagine the sicilian grannies working on it in their armchair.
