Fashion Week NY - Anna Sui
Anna Sui's collections circle always around a central story and for her show on Wednesday she introduced us to Anna May Wong, the first Chinese-American movie star, who managed the transition from a silent movie star to a talkie. She was a style icon of chinoiserie in the 1920s with its glamour, geometry and Art Deco influences. Another source of inspiration she took from the regional American design movement called Pueblo Deco, which mixed highly compatible Navajo and Art Deco elements which Sui translated into graphics for the collection.
