autumn squash soup

Inspired by the weather outside and the great variety of fresh vegetables, I have made a hearty squash soup today and as it looked so great and colorful and tasted so good, I thought I share it with you.

1 hokkaido squash (1-1,5kg)
3 spring onions
5 cm ginger
1/2 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp kurkuma
2 tbsp olive oil
roasted pumpkin seeds
yogurt, crème fraîche or cream cheese

1. Slice the squash into 5cm pieces. If you take the hokkaido squash you don't need to remove the skin, just take out the seeds and the fibrous meat around them. Then cut all other vegetables including the ginger into small pieces.
2. Heat the oil in a big pot and add the vegetables. Fry shortly from all sides and add approximately 1,5 liter of water.
3. Add kurkuma, chili and salt. Let it boil until the squash is soft (approx. 20 minutes)
4. Use a blender to get a smooth consistency of the soup.
5. Serve with yogurt, crème fraîche or cream cheese and sprinkle with roasted pumpkin seeds and some chili flakes.

autumn look #9

The third look is inspired by the 1960s with its mini dresses and high boots. The dark red dress is from Saint Laurent's Fall collection and I have combined it with glitter boots and a bag in silver. With all the glitter and glam the look requires for sure a certain kind of boldness.

This look is based on a beautiful dress by Vivienne Westwood. I have chosen it for its simple elegance and the hint of color it adds. I have combined it with a leather jacket and a mosaic bag by Maison Martin Margiela to add some playfulness to the cool and elegant look.

autumn look #7

Let's start the week with 3 new autumn looks! The first one is combination of black and gold metallics. Key pieces of the look are the bronze leather trousers and the jacket with an oriental pattern by Isabel Marant. While all other accessories are held in black, the bag unites the different golden and bronze shades of the outfit.

a summer in Paris - my mini collection in progress

After my summer courses I came home with a mind buzzing of ideas, so I started to work on the mini collection we have designed on paper and I am trying to realize them bit by bit. The collection is very conceptual as the designs are based on collage.

The first look is the sample of the first dress. I have showed it to you before. It is an asymmetrical design with strong lines lighten up by the organic shape of the foulard top.

The second look I have pinned today at the mannequin. It has a bustier top and a multi-layered skirt. I found it important that it is a two-piece combination this time, because I would like to mix top and bottoms of the different looks.

autumn look #6

And for all the pattern lovers I have chosen an amazing dress of Mary Katrantzou's Fall/Winter collection in different shades of pink, red and purple which are always my autumn favorites. As a coat I have chosen a powder color which sets a soft contrast to the pattern and the strong color of the accessories.

The second look for today is a black-and-white look which plays with different textures and pattern. The black shirt dress mixes casual and luxury in its simple style combined with its delicate material. I have combined it with a cosy shearling vest and structured boots. The accessories in the same color code complete the look.

autumn look #4

Three more autumn looks for you! The first look for today is based on tough, black leather combined with a color- and also playful jacket by Givenchy held in bright autumn colors like brown, red and yellow with additional blue highlights. I especially like the material contrast of shiny, smooth leather and the soft layered structure of the jacket.

photography - Andrea Dabene's little red skirt

Some time ago I stumbled upon the photographs of a girl in a red skirt posing in front of breathtaking landscapes. The photographer's name is Andrea Dabene and her project is called #thatlittleskirt featuring herself in the beautiful setting of the Canadian landscape where she has been living and got inspired during the last four years.
I especially like the way how she composes her pictures. With her playful approach, she emphasizes the beauty of the nature around her and creates a personal relationship to the place and the observer. And of course I just love her red skirt.

Enjoy the pictures and if you want to see more of that little skirt traveling the world, check out her instagram: andreadabene!

autumn look #3

The third look for today is based on cool leather culottes by Proenza Schouler in a dark shade of red which I have combined with a woolen top in a bouclé optic. The accessories are held in the same warm red shade and give a bit of glamour to the cool look.
